Game Notes Countdown To The NHL - #15 Florida Panthers

NHL Team: Florida Panthers

Conference: Eastern

Division: Atlantic

2022-23 Recap: For 75% of the season this team was a bigger disaster than RA in the Panther Club during game 4, but they righted the ship just in time for playoffs and had a legendary run. If you don't know what I'm talking about with the Panther Club, make sure to watch the Chiclets' Stanley Cup Vlog for some laughs.

Biggest Loss: Anthony Duclair - Speedy winger who seemed to find his role in the Panthers lineup but with the cap situation he was moved to the Sharks. Duclair can play many different roles and I wouldn't be shocked if he is moved at the deadline this year.

Biggest Addition: Oliver Ekman-Larsson - Biz's old Coyotes teammate was moved to Vancouver but never really found his legs up North. Now he is headed to South Florida to get back to his game. This could be a huge get for the Panthers if he gets back to his Desert days.

2023-24 Outlook: I really question if Bob can play to the same standard as he did in the playoffs so I think they are a bubble team. If they do get into Playoffs again in 2024 nobody will want to see them in a 7 game series after what they did last year.

Player To Watch: Matthew Tkachuk - After his playoff performance, he is a must-watch every game this season. The moment he gave me an ice-cold beer in Nashville after the NHL Awards he sky-rocketed up my favorite player rankings. It's only a matter of time before we see him in a Sandbagger.

2023-2024 Season Bet: Florida at home vs. teams from the North is always a play. When you're playing in a cold weather city and you get a trip to the sun it's easy to have one too many Big Deal Brews while sneaking in 18 and lose focus on having your best game.
