Air Canada Sits Passengers in Puke Covered Seats, Proceeds to Kick Them Off Plane for Complaining

NY Post - Two passengers were booted off an Air Canada flight after complaining that their seats were covered in vomit just before a five-hour trip to Montreal, according to a fellow traveler.

Susan Benson, who was on Flight 1706 departing Las Vegas on August 26, said two women alerted flight attendants to a rancid smell coming from their seats that made it unbearable to sit down.

“There was a bit of a foul smell but we didn’t know at first what the problem was,” Benson wrote on Facebook. “Apparently, on the previous flight someone had vomited in that area.”

Although the women, who were not immediately identified, were ready to accept their fate, they were told by a pilot that they needed to leave because they were rude to the flight attendants.

There's nothing in the world that unites our country more than hating the airlines. I don't even think an alien invasion would top it. Say the aliens descended upon us and threatened to send us all to space jail, and for some reason we had to choose between getting rid of the aliens, or enacting revenge on the last airline that wronged us. Given that option, I would most likely say, "Maybe we should give space jail a chance. United Airlines cancelled my connecting flight last week and their Chief Risk Officer deserves to be murdered for it."

Personally, I've always bent the knee to Big Plane. A long time ago I conceded to the fact that I am utterly powerless over them. No matter how much I kick and scream, if the airline wants to gradually push my flight back for 24 hours straight before cancelling it entirely... that's what they're going to do, and there's nothing I can do about it. Causing a scene at the airport will land you on the front page of BastoolSports.com 9 times out of 10. Just accept your fate and know that some day eventually you will escape whatever form of hell the airline has you in.

But if this had happened to me I think it would have pushed me over the edge.

Benson said she and her fellow passengers were shocked over the characterization and tried to stick up for the women, but the duo were ultimately removed by security guards.

“I cannot stop thinking about these two ladies. They did nothing wrong,” Benson wrote. “I am ashamed to be a Canadian and ashamed of Air Canada.”

I never would have expected such a lack of hospitality from the Canadians. I might expect a exceptionally long wait list for flight you could have gotten the next day in America, but never a lack of courtesy. When I notify my Air Canada flight attendant that my seat is covered in puke, I expect a sincere apology, a full cleaning crew, and a gift card for a lifetime supply of Tim Hortons.

I wish I could have seen this exchange in person, because the way they describe it is hilarious. The passengers politely notify the flight attendant of their puke covered seats, the flight attendant hands then some wet naps and a roll of barf bags, then after they're done wiping the puke deeper into the fabric of the seats, the attendant comes back and says, "upon further review were actually kicking you off the plane."

The ridiculousness of that story makes me thing somebody is lying here. Far be it from me to side with the airlines, but on a human level I just can't picture passengers getting kicked off a plane unless they were at least a little bit rude.

Benson claimed that a pilot then approached the women and gave them an ultimatum: “They could leave the plane on their own accord and organize flights on their own dime, or they would be escorted off the plane by security and placed on a no-fly list!”

The witness said that during the argument, the women were never rude, only upset at their situation, a contention echoed by another passenger who tried to reason with the pilot.

In spite of everything, security guards boarded the plane and took the women away.

But then again, airlines aren't run by humans. They're run by soulless demon like creatures who spit acid and have hooves for hands. At least that's how I understand it. Oh well. Just another win for the airline. Air Canada 1 - Passengers 0. I know the article says that Air Canada will be rectifying the situation, but I highly doubt the $50 voucher these passengers inevitably end up receiving is going to do them justice.
