Game Notes Countdown To The NHL - #16 Seattle Kraken

NHL Team: Seattle Kraken

Conference: Western

Division: Pacific

2022-23 Recap: The surprise team in the Western Conference had a remarkable second season in the league by making the playoffs and beating the defending champs in the 1st Round. GM Ron Francis has built the team in a way where they basically had four 2nd lines they were throwing out there. Matty Beniers took home Rookie of the Year and is a superstar in the making. The fact that in the franchise's second season and they broke 100 points shows that hockey has a bright future in Seattle.

Biggest Loss: Ryan Donato A depth center who can be used up and down the lineup signed with the Blackhawks. The Kraken are built with players like Donato and he is a good locker-room guy. Will be missed but needed in Chi-town.

Biggest Addition: Pierre-Edouard Bellemare This signing did not make national news but it is perfect for the Kraken. This is a depth center they just lost with Donato. A vocal leader who brings a winning pedigree to a team that wants to go even further this year.

2023-24 Outlook: Should be able to secure the Wild Card again  and the Winter Classic in Seattle will be a time!! Bouy will once again live inside Biz's head all season.

Player To Watch: Ryker Evans D - The young defenseman had an unreal first season in the AHL. The 35th overall selection made the All-Star game and AHL all-rookie team. I think he gets time up this year when there are any injuries.

2023-2024 Season Bet:   Kraken will make playoffs -140
