An Engineer Invented A Machine That Shoots Webs, Now I Have Faith That One Day I Can Be Spider-Man

Bro, this is sick. Watching a video like this, I immediately realized that there's so many people in the world who have achieved a certain level of intelligence that I will never come close to achieving. Back when I was young, I used to think that silly string was the closest we'd get to being Spider-Man. The fact that there's a guy out there that invented something like this is amazing. We're still a far cry from being able to swing across skyscrapers, but am I the only one who is blown away by this? This is some real-life superhero shit.

The only thing I could find was this video. I wasn't able to find out the name of who this guy is, but considering it looks like he's performing some of these stunts in his living room, it gives me a lot of faith that we can go beyond this. This feels like the prototype. If this is step one, I'm pretty damn excited for what step two is going to be.

Maybe it's just my boyish wonder that believes these things, but I do think if somebody really put their mind to it, we could have real-life superheroes. We've had some people who've attempted it before, but it usually just ends with them handing out sandwiches to homeless people. There was that one guy, Phoenix Jones, who, I think, turned out to be a piece of shit in real life. But you got to think that somebody out there with an insane amount of money and intelligence could put together something that could resemble a superhero. Am I crazy? OK, I know I'm crazy, but a man can dream.

There's a lot of superheroes with more advanced powers. I mean, is there anyone stronger than Superman? But if I could be one superhero, it would be Spider-Man. There's just something so cool and so freeing about seeing somebody swing around the city like that. Hell, if I had what this guy had and I could just grab a water bottle, I'd feel like I could conquer the world. This opens the door to endless possibilities. I feel like real-life lightsabers got to be next in line. I mean, that would be a complete disaster. We'd have people getting decapitated. But at least it would be fun.

Anyway, I figured I'd share this. It's cool to look at. We're inching ever so closer to real-life superheroes.
