Baker Mayfield Will Be The Reason The Buccaneers Win The NFC South

Editor's note: I asked Marty if Baker has ever reached out to say thank you for writing these blogs. He said no, which I find equally hilarious and concerning considering how much he believes in Baker still. 

Everyone was very quick to give up on this man. He went from the Browns, who have been one of the worst franchises in history, to the Panthers, who blew up their entire team. Then he learns a playbook in one day for a shitty Rams team and beats the Raiders on short notice. A lot of people are counting them out, but that division is absolute dog shit. Baker still has two very good receivers on his team. Let's not forget Tom Brady, who was awful last year, still won this division last year with just winning 8 games. 

I know people think I am writing this just because I thought he was going to be good last year but I think this system and the confidence he is going to be bringing into this season will be completely changed. He was drafted number one overall for a reason. I kinda like that he had to win the job against a guy who has barely played in the NFL. It shows that he is starting over, his days of being on a team and him thinking that he is definitely a starter. When Baker Mayfield is an under dog he performs better. That was a big reason why he won that game against the Raiders last year so as people keep doubting him he will continue to get better. Quarterbacks to get a lot of shit when a lot of times their offensive line is absolute dog shit so if the Bucs can protect him a little bit he will have a good season.
