America Is All About Hot, Nasty, Bad Ass Speed. And Sha'Carri Richardson Brought It On The Way To Winning The 100m World Championship

One of my favorite parts of life is when the United States of America is simply better at everything than any other nation on the planet. Music, movies, basketball, lacrosse, student loan debt. You name it, the USA is kicking the shit out of everybody else in it.

But for a while now, it seems like Jamaica has been running things when it comes to sprinting. There was a decade of dominance from Usain Bolt. And a Jamaican woman has won gold in the 100m at each of the last 4 Olympics. They've also won gold at 4 out of the last 5 World Championships. It was time for the US to do what we do best and start to beat some ass again.

Holy shit what a finish. I mean at no point until the very last second did it seem like she was going to win that thing.

A World Championship record. 10.65. Just to put that into perspective for a second here--Tyreek Hill's personal best in a 100m was 10.19 seconds. He's the fastest player in the NFL and has less than half a second on Sha'Carri Richardson. DK Metcalf's time was a 10.37. I'm not saying Sha'Carri Richardson could be an NFL wide receiver. But she might be able to at least draw you a few holdings calls here and there. That's the only reason the Chiefs won a Super Bowl last year, so maybe she'd at least be worth the call.
