Dalvin Cook Going To The Jets Makes Me Want To Drink Bleach As A Dolphins Fan

Dalvin Cook signed a 1 year, $8.6M contract with the New York Jets last night and it makes me want to drink bleach. As a Dolphins fan I’m devastated. Dalvin was literally on his hands and knees begging to be a Miami Dolphins, saying that it would be a Cinderella story.

Before I go on my rant about why the Dolphins needed to sign Dalvin, I’m going to give the Jets the credit they deserve. This is a great move for the New York Jets. They are in a win now mindset. Fuck the money, fuck the draft capital, just win football games.

Not only does Dalvin Cook make the Jets better, but he will also make Breece Hall better. Breece might not get the same workload he did last year but that’s actually a good thing. Breece was tearing up the league last year before he blew out his knee. Now Breece won’t have to rush back on the field to play by Week 3 only to blow his knee out again. This signing allows Breece to take as much time as he needs to get to 100%, then after this year, it will be the Breece Hall show all over again.

As for the Dolphins, they make me fucking sick. We have $12M in cap space left and all we’re doing is signing corners and safeties that no one has ever heard of. This team has a 2-3 year window to win. This year, next year, and MAYBE the year after.

The Dolphins are loaded with young talent that all deserve to get paid. Within the next 2 years the Dolphins are going to have to pay; Tua (if he stays healthy), Waddle, Jalaen Phillips, Jevon Holland, Christian Wilkins, Conor Williams, and maybe even Kader Kohu. The point I’m trying to make here is, WHY WOULD YOU NOT SIGN DALVIN COOK FOR ONE FUCKING YEAR? It’s a one year deal, you have nothing to lose. If you sign him for one year and he sucks who gives a fuck? If you sign him for 1 year and he runs for 1,000 yards, you hit the jack pot. Our defense is set in stone. We have one of the best WR corps in the NFL, why would you not bring in Dalvin Cook to complement them? If Tua stays upright for all 17 games, there’s nothing this team can’t do. And if Tua were to miss games, it’s even more of a reason to bring in a cowbell running back like Dalvin Cook.

After Dalvin gets hit with the NY state tax that $8.6M will be worth around $4M, plus the $2M from the Vikings, so he’ll make about $6M. You mean to tell me that a team who is in win now mode can’t cough up $4M to sign a running back who ran for over 1,000 yards and 12 TDs?

I swear sometimes I just want to punch my dad in the face for making me like this team but the damage is already done and I’m not going anywhere. I still believe the Dolphins can win the division, but having a guy like Dalvin Cook would have made it a lot easier.
