We Bounced Back With A Solid Gambling Day Yesterday. Let's Get Back To Work With Today's Picks

RECORD

48-72-2 (-0.7 units)

Oh yeah, put the word out. We are back. We had a nice little day yesterday. I didn't bet any home run props, but we went 2-1 with our plays. The Astros couldn't get the job done against the Marlins, as they squandered some excellent opportunities early in the ball game. The Marlins are a scrappy team, man. I'd kind of like to see them in October. Our other two bets we won handily. The Rangers just demolished the Los Angeles Angels, and thanks to Grayson Rodriguez putting together a phenomenal outing, the Orioles shut down the San Diego Padres. I feel like we're in a good place right now. We're pretty deep in the season. I feel like I have a pretty good gauge on the teams I like and those I don't trust. We're one home run prop away from shooting this thing off into outer space. Let's take a look at today's picks.

Rangers -1.5 (+120) against the Angels

Good things have happened to me when I bet against the Los Angeles Angels. I'm stunned by this line. How are the Rangers at plus money on the run line? Lucas Giolito is on the mound for the Angels and can pitch some good baseball, but I like the Jordan Montgomery pickup for the Rangers. And also, the Rangers kind of just don't lose. They're 10-2 over their last 12, and while they still have the Astros nipping at their heels, it doesn't seem like they've been feeling any pressure at all. Unless it's Ohtani on the mound, I trust nobody on the Angels pitching staff right now. I'm not saying they were ever well put together to begin with, but holy shit are they broken right now. Give me the Rangers all day.

Mariners -1.5 (+105) against the Royals

I'll keep this nice and simple, Mariners at plus money on the run line against Jordan Lyles. I know they lost a heartbreaker last night, but I'd be stupid to turn that down.

Luis Robert to homer (+425) against the Cubs

Anytime somebody mentions the Chicago White Sox, It's easy to default to the fact that they've become a complete dumpster fire. I don't blame people for doing that, but it has blinded people from the fact that Luis Robert has finally started to reach his full potential in 2023. He may end up putting up the quietest 6-WAR season we've seen in baseball. Feels like he's been around for a minute, but the guy is only 25. He still has an MVP ceiling. He's got 31 home runs this year, so I'm surprised at how juicy the value is here. His numbers against Kyle Hendricks are really good. He has four hits in 11 plate appearances and clubbed two home runs. Hendricks can still command the baseball when he wants to, but he tends to leave some floaters right over the other plate. I'd appreciate it if he left one over the heart of the plate this evening, preferably to Luis Robert.
