If All Was Right In The World, The Actor's Strike Would Be Over Because Aubrey Plaza Brought Out Lil Sebastian

If you’re looking for someone to break down what this actor strike is about, you’re probably talking to the wrong person. I don’t care enough about any of the shit to do research. The one good thing that comes out of most strikes and protests is that they usually bring out a lot of crazy shit, and I don’t think there’s an actor or actress in Hollywood better suited to do weird shit than Aubrey Plaza. I mean that affectionately, of course.

First off, bringing Lil Sebastian on board is an ultimate power move. That’s the Justin Verlander fastball of this particular actor strike. Even people who never watch "Parks And Rec" know the Lil Sebastian phenomenon. It’s one of the best episodes of the series. Will it have any impact on the strike as a whole? Probably not, but it should. She bought a Lil Sebastian. What’s the other side brought out? A whole lotta nothing. Score one for the actors.

I'll plead ignorance about many of the goings-on when it comes to this strike, but I generally sympathize with struggling actors. At this point, Aubrey Plaza does not qualify as a struggling actor, but she's probably in the top 1% of actors who make it. She's standing up for the little guy. I can't knock her for that. Most actors spend years doing Colgate toothpaste commercials or guest starring on Law And Order episodes before breaking it into the mainstream. Have you ever looked at Bryan Cranston's IMDb page? It's loaded full of minor rolls. He didn't hit it big until "Malcolm In The Middle." We now know him to be one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood, but there was a time when he was probably waiting tables to make money.

I got to give Aubrey Plaza a lot of credit. Her star has shined way longer than I expected it to. That's a testament to her versatility. I figured she would just get typecast as the weird side character her entire career, but she's taking on heavier roles and proved herself to be a great dramatic actress. And she's funny as shit. Does anybody dislike Aubrey Plaza? She has a pretty high approval rating.

The internet's reaction to seeing Lil Sebastian again made me think one thing. We are probably due for a "Parks And Rec" reunion at some point here soon. I won't chalk it up to the whole "we've run out of ideas" thing. I feel like it makes a lot of sense. All these actors have gone on to be in other projects. Some, like Chris Pratt, became huge successes. The show ended almost ten years ago. It stayed in the cultural lexicon for a long time. We may get it, maybe we won't, but for now, we got Lil Sebastian on the picket lines. That's funny.
