WATCH: Rob Lowe Sits Down With Bert Kreischer To Talk About Hookers, Partying In The 80s, And How ATMs Changed The Drug World Forever

"In the those days there was no AIDS, there was no social media, you could do what you wanted to do and there was privacy. Cocaine was good for you. It's what smart successful people did. It was almost doctor prescribed. It was much more innocent and much more fun. I think a lot about being in the 80s and I'm so grateful that I not only survived and not only lived through them, but I got to REALLY be present in them. It's a moment in time that will never come again. Ever." - Rob Lowe 2023

What. An. Open. And you know what? He's right. Rob Lowe was a celebrity at a time when being a celebrity meant something totally different than it does today. It was about opulence for the sake of opulence. You did things because you could, not because you wanted to people to see you doing them. In fact, that's the last thing you wanted people to see. Your personal life was just that...personal. The allure of celebrities in the 80s was the fact that you didn't know everything about them, but you know they were living a lavish life, hanging out with fabulous people, and partying their dicks off.

Here's a clip of Rob describing what ATM's were used for back in the day...

Hookers and cocaine, for those of you who didn't listen. To be honest, I'm glad I wasn't alive during that era because I most certainly wouldn't have survived. If AIDS didn't get me, the partying 100% would. I'm not even a big partier either, I just can't say no.

If you've got the time I suggest listening to that entire interview. It's a window into the past through the eyes of a guy who lived it to the fullest. Love Rob. Love Bert. That's it for this one. Thanks for reading.
