Madden 24 Is Finally Getting A "Massive Makeover" And This Year It's To Franchise Mode
We hear the same shit every year about Madden getting "massive improvements" for it to just be a cosmetic facelift and nothing to the actual game. That might finally be changing this year and as always, I will be the sucker who purchases the new game for $60 just to get updated rosters.
Franchise mode is the best part about Madden if you ask me. I don't even care if it has gotten substantially worse over the years and leaves a lot to desire. It's fun to rebuild shitty franchises and go for glory, especially if you're a Vikings fan like me with no promise in the real world. Here's what they're saying the updates are:
* Home Field Advantage Toggle
* New Feature “Training Camp”
* Expended Trade Slots
* "Trade difficulty" Slider
* Additional "99 club" Draft Prospects
* Remade The "Progression and Regression" Sliders
* Remade The Free Agency Motivations
* Remade "Weekly Strategy"
* Remade Offensive and Defensive Playcall Settings
* New Uniforms On Relocations
New feature: training camp is hilarious because it was one of the best features in Madden and they pulled it. Remember those mini camp ground attack running drills with Clinton Portis and Shaun Alexander:
Maybe they saw all the viral tweets saying to bring this back which is a step in the right direction. The relocation upgrades are kinda cool and the trading system did suck, so maybe it isn't a total wash besides the camp stuff. Will Burge wrote a blog about how the people in charge of Madden are saying this is a make or break year for the franchise, and it seems this is their response to the industry criticism. Madden 24 comes out in 2 weeks, so in the meantime feast on The Maddening:
And get the checkbook ready for another release, because there's visible proof I'm not the only sucker continuing to buy these games every year:
Death, taxes, EA profits.
