Ed Sheeran Caused A Mob Scene When He Showed Up To Sling Hot Dogs At Chicago’s Famous “Weiner Circle”
NBC Chicago - While customers might typically visit Chicago's rudest hot dog for a meal or the one-of-a-kind experience, some stopped by on Saturday to meet one of the world's most famous singers.
Fans of Ed Sheeran flocked to The Wiener's Circle, the iconic Lincoln Park hot dog stand known for its sassy staffers, as he manned the counter. With little advanced notice, the singer-songwriter announced that he'd be giving away hot dogs at the establishment Saturday afternoon.
Photos taken by Telemundo Chicago showed a smiling Sheeran as he conversed with fans and customers, something the iconic establishment's employees might not typically do.
Given that, it appears Sheeran didn't live up to the business' standards.
"Our newest trainee @edsheeran has a lot to learn, he’s way too proper and friendly," the Wiener's Circle tweeted.
It's pretty insane how many monumental hot dog joints we have in Chicago. It's insane. Which makes it even crazier how incredible a job The Weiner Circle does at marketing and making itself stand out.
1st off - whoever thinks up the messages they put up on their Marquee could run circles around the NY Post headline writers. They are that good.
2nd - their dogs are fucking amazing, their fries are very very slept on, and even though their workers are "rude" (on purpose) to you, they are still some of the nicest, best workers you'll experience anywhere. ESPECIALLY for a late night spot. They're the best.
It's like once a month they have something major like this making big headlines.
Sheeran knows a thing or too himself -
Sheeran has been stealing ALL the headlines recently on this tour.
Just a couple of weekends ago he was up in Detroit and pulled Detroit's GOAT up on stage with him. Sending the crowd into a frenzy.

A capacity crowd delighted by the unexpected hometown homage soon erupted with a roar of hysteria. A hooded figure was emerging from beneath the stage, and the reality quickly became clear: Here was Eminem, making his first Detroit concert appearance in years, joining the festivities to perform his signature hit.
Rico blogged about this, but he didn't include the other videos that emerged other than tiktok, and it didn't include the second song Eminem stayed out there for and did with Sheeran, "Stan".
Watching this unofficial official video of backstage, where Eminem is crouching down before hopping on stage to jump in on the second 8 bars of "Lose Yourself" is fucking awesome.
Hearing that roar from the crowd, where it drowns out the audio so bad to the point you can't even hear Eminem is awesome.
Sheeran also rocked a Lions (2023 NFC North Division Champs, you heard it hear first) jersey, with Marshall's last name on the back. Very well played if you ask me.

Sheeran's tour has been on fire since it kicked off in April. His newest album, - (Subtract) is also phenomenal.
I didn't love Sheeran's last album = (equal), and how pop-infused it was. It didn't fit him. But this Subtract album is the Sheeran we all fell in love with. It's stripped-down vocals and acoustics. Much of it was produced by The National's Aaron Dessner.
The single, "Life Goes On", is one of the prettier more touching songs you'll remember hearing in recent memory.
and "Boat" is one of the sadder
The most impressive thing about seeing Sheeran perform live is getting to see him operate his foot pedal loop contraption. He has this synced up, foot-operated loop station that allows him to build four-minute loop symphonies but in real-time. So he will essentially record himself playing a set of notes, loop it with his feet pedals, alter it with an effect maybe, then do it again and again, layering it all in real time while he's still up there singing the song. The mental capacity this must take, coupled with the muscle memory is insane. It's a technique that allows him to create waterfalls of vocals as well.
Sheeran is the man.
