The Mets Fire Sale Is Raging As Max Scherzer Is Traded To The Rangers For Prospect Luisangel Acuña (Ronald's Brother)

So I guess Max had that meeting with the Mets front office about the direction of the franchise and he didn't love it! I imagine part of that pow wow was Billy Eppler saying the Mets would be buyers instead of sellers if Max came through against the Braves, Yankees, Padres, and/or Red Sox over the last two months instead of getting his dick kicked in. Regardless, him waiving him no trade clause and agreeing to join the Rangers was the most he's come through in a big moment for the Mets during his brief time in New York.

Every time I started looking toward next year's Mets to stop feeling the pain this year's Mets team has unleashed on my soul, Scherzer's $43 million player option would instantly send me back to baseball hell. Well not only do I no longer have to do that anymore but I even get to convince myself that Luisangel Acuña is going to be at the very least the infield version of his brother, which will lead Uncle Stevie to pay him a ton of money above market value, which will make Ronald grow to hate the Braves.

Yes this entire process was drawn out like when Max signed with the Mets and yes I am happy I don't have to give a single fuck about which Rangers minor leaguer is in their respective lineup, unless Texas wants to make another trade with Billy Eppler. What a strange 1.5 seasons the Max Scherzer Era was in Queens and an extremely weird last day. But not as weird as exactly 8 years ago...

As for the Rangers, I have no clue how Max will work out with in Texas after putting up a 4.01 ERA so far this season with the Mets.  But I have to admit the Power Arms Express from Flushing to Arlington has not exactly been great with Jacob deGrom and Kumar Rocker making the journey over the last year.

We broke everything down live on We Gotta Believe which included a couple of speed bumps along the way when it looked like the deal with alive then dead then maybe happening.
