USA's 12u Baseball Team Squeaked Out a Tough One Last Night, Beating New Zealand 43-1
What a graphic. What a boxscore. What a country.
It was a close one last night between the United States and New Zealand. After only managing to get three runs across in the first inning, the US scrapped together 40 over the next three frames to give themselves some breathing room and cruise to victory. You can never be too sure these days. 17 free passes was just too much to overcome for Team New Zealand. That and being half the size of the opposition. I'm just glad they've got a four inning mercy rule down there in Taiwan to keep things reasonable.
No, in all seriousness I feel like wars have been started over much less than a drubbing like this. It seems like New Zealand was thrilled enough with their late run to not ruin any diplomatic relations. Still would be hard to blame them if they chose military action.
One person we need to talk about is Leyland Henry. This man is a problem, and when I say man I mean man. He went 4 for 5 with 5 RBI.
I mean is just Frank Thomas, right?
With all due respect to the credibility of this tournament, how is this person not in college? Could honestly tell me this was a minor leaguer and I'd buy it. Under 12 years old? Get out of here.
