You Are An Absolute Moron If You Think The Angels Should Trade Shohei Ohtani

All these Twitter general managers saying the Angels need to trade Shohei Ohtani are the biggest morons in the world. I understand the idea of getting something for a player that is almost definitely leaving your franchise. But trading him right now makes 0 sense. The time to move Ohtani was last year's trade deadline where you would get so much more back because he wouldn't have been a rental.

It would be so stupid for the Angels to trade the best player in baseball when they are 4 games out of the wild card with Mike Trout returning next month and Ohtani doing everything he can to keep them in the race, including doing this today.

The Angels have sucked with two of the best players in the sport for a while now. But we've seen that as long as you make the playoffs in baseball, anything can happen. The Angels are clearly buyers after trading for Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez last night. If Ohtani sees that they are committed to winning in the short term and maybe make some noise in October, maybe there is a chance he comes back to Anaheim.

This is likely a lose, lose situation because trading away the best player we have ever seen will make Angels fans absolutely furious since any guy they get in a trade isn't going to be a half the player Ohtani is and I can guarantee that they won't hear of any of the players they get in these trades. But losing him for nothing if/when he signs somewhere else will be devastating too.

Besides, the Angels are so fucked with their farm system already, why not go all in and try to win it with Ohtani and Trout? I don't get why people get so mad about not acquiring prospects. You don't know how good any of these kids will be. Instead show the best player in the sport that you will do anything to build around him and hope everything comes together at the perfect time.
