Justin Herbert Is A GOD And Should Be Respected As Such

This is one of the points that really gets stuck in my craw every time the Justin Herbert discourse gets started.

"HE hasn't done anything in the playoffs!"

"HE has weapons!"

"HE doesn't have as many wins!"

Not a single bozo up his ass will acknowledge the situation he is in with this wretched team so, in the spirit of the stat above, let's take a look at him compared to the QBs usually put ahead of him in the rankings over the past 3 years.

The most points surrendered by a defense by a fair chunk. He is 19-4 in games where the Chargers gave up less than 27 points, which has only happened in 45% of his starts. For comparison, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott, Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, and Tua in 72% of their starts. So what if he has an entirely defective side of his team that he can't control? Just score more points, amirite?

As you can see, he is lucky enough to have BY FAR the worst rushing attack out of the group. Do you know how crippling it is to run an effective offense when your attack is one dimensional? You can ask Justin Herbert during the second half of the playoff game vs the Jaguars. The gameplan during that half should be obvious. Run the ball and burn clock. The Chargers net 7 TOTAL RUSHING YARDS in that half while Herbert went10/18, 147 yards with fractured rib cartilage and a torn labrum. It also doesn't help when your fucking scumbag idiot OC only knows how to run 3 plays…

And this is where the one true criticism of Herbert manifests.

He has a bazooka arm…

He has precision…

He has high football IQ…

And he has great awareness….

The only thing he lacks is a voice. A voice to, in the moments where you have some fucking bozo like Lombardi calling a play that won't work, say "no". He's just a pretty meek guy! He plays football, smokes meat, goes fishing and apparently tears it up on the golf course. Dude went to Oregon to be a doctor and just happened to be a god on the football field. It's easier to replace a braindead OC than it is to ask someone to change their entire responsibility, so prepare yourself for Kellen Moore to take this man to the promised land (unless Staley continues to be completely ineffective at the one side of the ball he was hired to fix).
