Pom Klementieff And Simon Pegg Pulled Off One Of The Best Interview Pranks Ever On The 'Mission: Impossible' Press Tour

This is one of the funnier stunts I've seen on a press junket in a long time. It's so apropos for the Mission: Impossible franchise, which makes it even better. Simon Pegg's character Benji is sort of the co- "guy in the chair" alongside Ving Rhames' Luther, always chatting away and telling Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt where to go.

Anyway, Pegg is feeding the most ridiculous interview answers to Dead Reckoning - Part One star Pom Klementieff just to throw this poor MTV UK interviewer Harriet for a loop. And DAMN, did they get her good!

My favorite line of questioning is when Klementieff is asked about millennials after she rattles through a series of sentences where Pegg asked her to use the word "hashtag" as many times as possible. Klementieff proceeds to explain that she hates millennials, and said hatred stems from one particular millennial killing her dog by hitting it repeatedly with a phone.

I've seen IRL sketches like this before for, like, Omaze or other charitable causes. The difference with the Pegg-Klementieff team-up is that nothing was behind it except the pure joy of messing with somebody. I got kind of nostalgic for a bit here, because the bit reminded me of a good episode of Punk'd. Miss that show. And no, I'm not one of those who consumes prankster YouTube channels.

Look Rose's reaction when Klementieff volunteers to demonstrate a leg-kick portion of her fight choreography in very close quarters:

There are more moments like this that had me dying. Imagine being Innocent Millennial Harriet Rose trying to make sense of it all. Once Pegg revealed the joke, she said, "I thought I was going to be sick on myself." LOL. Pegg complimented her for playing it so cool. Rose really did handle the absurdity like a total pro.

I don't know what I would've done, because I legitimately have no idea if I'd have taken the bait, or if I'd just improvise and make it even more insane with wild-ass/ignorant questions. Would like to think the latter, but hey, in that situation it'd be easy to be gullible. These actors sit through a bazillion interviews and largely answer the same five questions over and over again. Some bursting-forth, "I'M OVER THIS. GET ME OUT OF HERE" sentiment wouldn't be out of the bounds of reality.

OK enough of all that. Would be remiss to leave this blog without saying that Pom Klementieff KILLS IT in the new movie. She's vicious, brutal and I loved the fierce physicality she brought to her role. The seventh installment of this enduring M:I series might've been just shy of Fallout as the best one. I don't know. It's really damn close.

Speaking of Simon Pegg, though, he was just one with the LCB boys and teased how Dead Reckoning - Part Two is going to blow its predecessor out of the water on some of the stunts. GOOD LORD. Tom Cruise jumped off a freaking cliff already!
