Zayn Malik Reveals Why He Left One Direction (And Also Has A Hairless Cat Named Dobby)

As usual, Alex Cooper's deal with the devil gives us the guests and the interviews that we didn't realize we were missing. This week she had on One Direction member Zayn Malik, who, if you don't actually know who he is, you're insane.

Zayn was the first member of the band to break it all up. He goes into detail on the pod, but he could sense that things were shifting and they were all generally sick of each other after 5+ years of being together nonstop, and decided to take a leap. "Selfishly, I wanted to me the one to do it first" he says which, I respect. Zayn may not have the magnitude of fame that Harry Styles' solo career does now, but let's not forget he's put out some BANGERS. He took some time to focus on his mental health, spend time with his daughter, moved to Pennsylvania and is now working on new music. 

The entire interview is worth the listen, but of course my biggest takeaway was the fact that Zayn is a massive Harry Potter fan. So much so, that he has a Sphinx cat named Dobby. Which is kind of crazy because I 100% am serious when I tell you I want a sphinx cat as well. I was thinking to name it Dobby but ultimately decided on Voldemort. I once saw one named Nudacris which is fucking HILARIOUS so I think my future hypothetical hairless cat will be named Sir Voldemort Nudacris Keegan Esq. (he'll have a law degree) and he'll look just like this:
