"It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" Is The LeBron James Of TV Comedies, Still Putting Up Monster Numbers In Its 16th Season

Pure domination when you are nearing two decades in the league is insane. In LeBron's 16th season in the NBA he averaged 27, 7, and 9. In Always Sunny's 16th season they might as well be averaging 35, 11, and 10 because I started it last night and was laughing my dick off. Just like I did way back when I first saw The Gang get into their degenerate hijinx.

The only difference between LeBron and the cast of Always Sunny is LBJ has done nothing to help his poorly aging hairline while The Gang seems to have had quite a bit of work done. The comedic delivery isn't the only thing smooth in this new season if you catch my drift.

Botox addictions aside, how do they keep up the ridiculous, nonsensical storylines for 16 seasons and they never become stale? Mac with the peanuts, Charlie hiding a bedroom and bathroom in his apartment, Frank and that damn gun. They somehow never miss.

Reags blogged about this season when it was announced and I completely agree with him. Anyone saying it's Sunny has lost its fastball is just trying to be a douchebag hipster. Not liking awesome things doesn't make you cool. It makes you an asshole.

I'm not sure Sunny would win if you put its best five episodes up against The Office, Curb Your Enthusiasm, or Parks & Recreation but I know damn well it can hang when you put the entire body of work up against those shows. Sunny has been an All-Star every season and is always in the MVP talks. Never had an off season. Ever.

And their ability to get huge stars to take on absurd roles is almost unmatched.

So far my favorite episode is easily "Frank Shoots Every Member of the Gang." I don't know how it took 16 seasons for them to just have Frank carrying around a gun like a mad man but it's comedy gold. I did a spit take when Frank started shooting at the ocean. And this scene with Charlie and his mom pulling her teeth out with pliers went straight into the Sunny Hall of Fame.

Basically what I'm saying is go watch the damn show. Even if you have only caught episodes here and there over the years just dive right in. It's mindless comedy that you need to know nothing about to enjoy. And at a time when we're supposed to be inside because Canada is poisoning our lungs with campfire smoke It's certainly welcomed.

Follow me @WillBurge or they will cancel Sunny. That's not a threat it's a promise.
