SLAM Magazine Putting Ja Morant (30) 15 Spots Ahead Of Rajon Rondo (45) On Their Top 100 Point Guards Of All-Time List Is Beyond Blasphemous

Ok, what the hell is going on? How many body blows can one guy handle because I am reaching my limit. First, the Celtics blow Game 7 with a chance to get back to the Finals on their own floor in embarrassing fashion. Then Marcus Smart gets traded. Then Dennis Rodman starts throwing random shots at Larry Bird. And now, I'm sorry but I'm having a hard time even understanding what I'm reading here. I know every time these lists come out whether it's ESPN, The Ringer, SLAM, etc, the whole point is to make a list so terrible it gets engagement, but I simply cannot stay silent with this.

A see something say something type of situation.

It's one thing to give away these lists for engagement/zero cost. SLAM is charging you $19.94 for the regular version of this issue and $94.00 for the Gold Metal version. How can you show me those two pictures and expect anyone to spend money on that list? And I like SLAM! That and Sports Illustrated back in the day were the only things I basically ever read.

I don't even need to see the entire list because these graphics above tell me everything I need to know. This isn't just me being a Celtics homer. Sure that's always going to be part of it, but I say this as someone who has watched every dribble of both of these guys and there is simply NO POSSIBLE WAY that Ja Morant, a man of 248 career games and only 19 postseason games, a man that has won one (1) playoff series in his career, is FIFTEEN spots higher than Rajon Rondo on any sort of point guard list let alone THE TOP 100 GREATEST POINT GUARDS OF ALL TIME

Just saying that shit out loud makes me embarrassed and this isn't even my list.

Let's start off with the basics.

Rajon Rondo is a 4x All Star, a 3x AST champ, a 4x All Defensive Team member, 1x All NBA, 1x STL leader and he's won 2 rings. Well, my brain only recognizes one, but that's a me problem. For the rest of the world, he's a 2 time champ.

He's 14th ALL TIME in NBA history in assists with 7,584. He's 51st in steals all time with 1,518. Rondo is 7th ALL TIME in postseason assists with 1,136 in 134 games. Playoff Rondo, ever heard of him?

Prime Rondo would have Ja Morant in a level of hell he didn't even know existed. You cannot tell me there are 44 other point guards better all time than Rondo let alone that Ja deserves to be 15 spots higher. What are we even doing? Is this list actually the top 100 point guards of all time since like 2019? You could make the case that Rondo should be somewhere in the 20-25 range and closer to 20 than 25.

Please don't take this as me saying Ja Morant stinks. He obviously doesn't. He's a much better scorer than Rondo outside of the times Rajon unleashed Playoff Rondo and dropped 40+ with ease. Ja has more insane highlights in terms of dunks, so he goes viral. But let's also not forget if DWade didn't intentionally break Rondo's elbow/arm, he takes down the Heatles by himself.

So yeah, did this trigger me? You bet. It's been an emotional few weeks and this was just a little too much. I know I fell for the bait but I don't care. You do shit like this, you deserve to be called out on it.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go for a walk to calm down and then get back to refreshing my timeline waiting for free agency rumors.
