Migos' Offset and Quavo Reunited At Last Night's BET Awards In A Performance To Pay Respect To Fallen Member Takeoff

Last night, Migos’ Quavo and Offset attended the 2023 BET Awards, reuniting for the first time since Takeoff was shot and killed outside of a Houston, Texas, bowling alley in November 2022.

The show returned from a commercial break with a curtain raised on a darkened stage with two shoadwed figures standing there in silence. The image of a space shuttle appeared on the screen behind them, took off, and was replaced by an image of Takeoff with his hand reaching skyward. The performance began with a rendition of "Hotel Lobby," and the two grooving together onstage before an enlarged image of Takeoff was revealed on the screen behind them. The rappers then launched into the group's signature hit, "Bad and Boujee," as pyrotechnics blazed onstage and the crowd began going crazy.

The trio split up last year before Takeoff's murder because of problems they were having amongst the group, it's hierarchy, and questions of "loyalty."

“I just feel like we want to see our career as a duo, you know what I’m saying?” Quavo told the “Big Facts” podcast on October 4. “Because you know, we just came from a loyal family, shit that’s supposed to stick together. And sometimes, when shit don’t work out, it ain’t meant to be.”

Meanwhile, Takeoff focused on leaving the situation in God’s hands. “We don’t know all the answers, you feel me? God knows,” the late rapper explained. “We pray a lot, you know? Whatever ain’t right and however you supposed to see it fit, you put it back together or however you do it, we pray. So only time will tell. We always family now, that ain’t gon’ change.” (Yahoo)

Quavo alluded to loyalty being a reason for their third member’s estrangement.  “We stand on real deal, real deal loyalty, and sometimes that shit ain’t displayed. This ain’t got nothing to do with no label, no paperwork, no QC, nothing. This got something to do with the three brothers. And shit, it is what it is. Right now, we gon’ be the duo ’til time tell.”

It's great that they could put their differences aside and reunite for something, that Offset agreed, "is bigger than them".

The pair both have new albums on the way, expected this summer. So that might have something to do with it too.
