2013 Little League World Series Legend Cash Money Has Resurfaced As A Baseball Prospect And More Importantly, The Best Name In Sports
So I'm actually scrolling through my Teacher Twitter which is filled with a bunch of high school sports highlights, and I stumble across this video of a kid named Cash Money taking some cuts at a showcase. Cash Money? Like, THE Cash Money?
For those of you that don't recall, Cash Money (real name) was introduced to the world back in 2014 by a simple graphic put on ESPN while his brother Blake batted in the Little League World Series.
Before I continue, 5'10 161 pounds as a 12 year old? Jesus, I gotta see what this kid is doing now. But anyways, from there, they found Cash in the stands and he was 100x cooler than anyone could've imagined.
Swag completely off the charts for an 8-year-old.
I love thinking about the risk / reward involved with naming your kid Cash Money. Like, congrats to him because it seems like he's a pretty good young ballplayer. Probably a cool kid? But if he turned out to be a dork, that's a toughhhh look that the other kids certainly would poke fun at.
I can't find any information as to whether Cash is on the path to the big leagues or not, but my research does show that as of now, Cash appears to still just be "Blake's sibling".
Man I wish Blake was the one they named Cash. Cash Money as an LSU pitcher / future MLB player would instantly launch him into the #1 name in all of sports. All these athletes are doing NIL deals with restaurants and car dealerships, but find me a financial institution that wouldn't want you to Bank with Cash Money.
