Jose Mourinho Waited In The Parking Garage To Call Ref Anthony Taylor 'A Fucking Crook And Disgrace' After Losing The Europa League Finals

[Source] - Mourinho said: “I have to defend my lads,” in a long discourse after the final, in which a potential handball from Fernando did not result in a penalty for Roma and the VAR overturned an initial decision to give Sevilla a penalty for a challenge on Lucas Ocampos by Roger Ibañez.

There were 13 cards for the players alone, plus at least three more for people on the Roma bench, including Mourinho himself, as they pressured the officials, but Mourinho claimed to be furious at what he saw as a robbery.

“Pellegrini falls in box and given a yellow card; Ocampos did exactly the same thing and he doesn’t get one. It’s a scandal. VAR called the referee and shames Ocampos but there’s no card given. Lamela – who, by the way, scored one of the penalties – deserved a second yellow but didn’t get it. And let’s not even talk about the big decisions. That’s just the small details. I told my players you can lose a match but never your dignity. We lost today but we did not lose our dignity. I won five finals but I have never been more proud than I am today. Happier, yes, but not more proud.”

I love this move from Jose so damn much. It's part of what makes him, Jose, and not the first time he's done such a thing. But here's why I love it. You can complain about the refs. You can bitch and moan in the press conference. Jose takes actions into his own hands. He doesn't care about 'fines' or 'suspensions' those are just words to him. He's going to wait in the parking lot and confront the ref. Good. They don't have to do press conferences and Anthony Taylor was a bit of a disaster yesterday in the Europa League Finals. Plus, Jose doesn't lose European finals. He was 5-for-5 heading into yesterday.

Not to mention he lost in PKs and the final PK was a retake. You want to talk about shitty ways for a game to end? I've said it before I have a love/hate relationship with PKs. They are fun as hell to watch, but it's such a dumb way to end a match, especially a final. Play until there is another goal! It's not that hard to do.

I love that Jose went over the top too. He didn't just slightly berate Anthony Taylor. He called him a crook, a fucking disgrace. It's the perfect rant by him. Waiting around in the parking garage, still fuming. Think about all the times you're sitting around and wishing you said something more in an argument. Jose got to do that. He got to stand there, wait, pace and then go off. It's impressive.
