Imagine Being A Nerd And Refusing To Think Wrestling Is Fucking Awesome After Watching This Exploding Superkick

Big weekend in wrestling with WWE Night of Champions on Saturday and AEW Double or Nothing Sunday night. This was the main event here, awesome, Anarchy in the Arena with the Elite vs Blackpool Combat Club. That's not important here. What''s important is I'm going to need some nerd to explain to me how this exploding super kick isn't perfect art. Or this from the four pillars match:

Human centipede or four man submission move? You pick. Either way, just another night that I'm not ashamed to say I love wrestling as a 36-year old father (of two). I've gone back to my roots recently and by roots I mean back to the 90s and early 2000s when I didn't miss a wrestling show. It's been AWESOME lately. From the Bloodline story in WWE to everything going on in AEW.

Speaking specifically to AEW's Double or Nothing, it started slow. The crowd was weird then the Trios match (awesome) and Statlander coming back (trying not to spoil too much here just to be safe) got the crowd going late. The Four Pillars match was legit the most fun match I've seen in a long, long time. Those dudes were flying all over the place, had the moment where they all broke out their mentors moves and stuck with the storyline (Jack not having the killer instinct, the headlock takeover, etc).

Then Anarchy at the Arena was mayhem. You had the band who wouldn't stop playing Wild Thing until the Young Bucks super kicked them. You had one of the Young Bucks (forget which one) catch a pile driver in the back of a truck. You had thumb tacks being shoved in mouths. It was, well, anarchy, highlighted by that explosive super kick. Fucking hilarious.

I'm not some wrestling historian or anything like that like Brandon or Robbie. I'm simply a grown man who loves to watch it. It's tv, it's an art, it's like anything else that we stare at the screen for. Hell of a weekend for it.
