Just In Case You Need Another Reason To Love Blink 182, Mark Hoppus Danced With Fans Outside MSG Friday Night
The Blink 182 concert Friday was scenes. I was in the building, you had Nate breaking his foot in 5 places, and the band put on one of the best shows of I've seen in a while.
Enema Of The State was one of the first albums I remember buying with my own money as a kid. Listened to it start to finish after school for what felt like everyday. It was one of those albums that felt like a voice of kids my age in a transitional time from being 12 into teenage years. I ate it up. Knew every word, and still put it up there with one of the best albums of my lifetime.
I think I gained a bigger appreciation seeing them live at 35 than I would have at 12 as it brought back the nostalgia of listening to that CD as a kid, and maybe seeing one of the final go arounds for them on tour. The show rocked. They brought it from start to finish for 2 hours straight.
I wish I stuck around 8th avenue a little longer because it was one of those moments I feel like only happens in New York, or more so the Garden. Fans were dancing and signing on on the corner when to the surprise of everyone, Mark Hoppus joined them. The crazy thing is I feel like the people in that circle, unless they see this Tik Tok, didn't even realize Mark was in there at all. Either way, it was awesome of him to embrace the fans like that and give them an all time moment of celebrating with the member of the band. Jealous of everyone on that corner, and super cool of Hoppus to do that.
