FUCK THEM KIDS!!! Israel Adesanya Explains His "Night Night" Gesture Directed At Alex Pereira's Kid After UFC 287
Let's rewind it back to briefly set the stage here. Below we have Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. These two are blood rivals at this point, with Adesanya getting knocked out by Pereira not once, but twice:
Once in Brazil in a kickboxing match. Other than one UFC fight where Adesanya got his ass kicked by a dude who was about 3x his size, this was Izzy's only pro loss:
After that fight, Pereira's kid mocked Izzy for the knockout in the ring:
Izzy made a mental note to eventually circle back on this and did NOT take kindly to it.
Fast forward to November of '22. Pereira has made his way to UFC and they fast tracked him to fight Izzy again and unfortunately for Izzy, he got stopped. Again.
Goddamn. This Brazilian cat with only a small amount of UFC fights under his belt has swiftly turned into Izzy's boogeyman…at least until a few weeks back when they met for the 3rd time total/2nd time in the Octagon:
And Izzy finally got the monkey off his back. Once he did, he immediately looked for Pereira's kid in the stands and gave him a good ol fashion "night night!" gesture.
Izzy breaks it down here:
FUCK THEM KIDS!!!!! Goddamn that's diabolical.
The UFC is such a different animal and it's why I've really started to love it. If any other athlete in any other league singled out a YOUNG kid, pointed at him, and made the "night night" gesture at him like Izzy did, people would freak the fuckkkkk out. Libs, mostly, of course. That goes without say. Like, imagine if some MLB player hit a walk off dinger then looked to the crowd for the pitcher's kid and did this? He'd get canceled into bolivian.
Not in UFC though, that's why it's the best, and guess what? I am 100% on Izzy's side here. He's right. That kid needed to be taught a lesson and in shit talking and if that's not gonna come from Pereira, it might as well come from the dude who kicked Pereira's ass. If you're gonna shit talk, man up and don't cry why things don't go your way.
Respect your elders, kid, Lesson learned.
As my dear friend Rick James would say, that was coooooold bloooded!!!
