Aaron Rodgers Bids Farewell To The Packers In a Heartfelt Post That Mentions Practically Everyone In The Organization

Not going to lie here, I was mostly fine and accepting of Aaron Rodgers moving onto the Jets, but that post kinda got me there. Pretty tough to say it much better than that. From thanking the late Ted Thompson, to naming the equipment room people, the training room guys, the nutrition man, his teammates, coaches, and the fans. Hell the man is still going on his IG story thanking people like their long time practice ref Larry Van Olstein and the team photographer Evan Siegle. Shit probably means the world to those guys to get signaled out. Maybe he did learn a thing or two from ol' Brett.

The two names I immediately looked for were of course Brian Gutekunst, the man who traded up to draft Rodgers replacement, and president Mark Murphy. Two guys who did their best to mess with his later years there and refused to give him legit help. Even they made the post! If it were up to Aaron he'd probably set them on fire and watch with a smile on his face, but he opted for class on the way out today.

You can call it all corny and lame, but taking the time to mention all those guys on his way out despite the rollercoaster over the years is pretty fucking cool to me. Okay Greg Jennings ain't getting a shout out, but I think he will understand that one.

It was an absolute privilege to watch this man throw the football over the last two decades. What a blast it's been witnessing all the MVP seasons, the back shoulder throws, the covid takes, the strange line of girlfriends, the Hail Marys, the insightful interviews, the last second comebacks, the continued domination of Chicago, and of course that incredible Super Bowl run.

Sure it'll be weird tomorrow seeing him introduced as a Jet, but I won't lie it'll be cool to flip on the local Jets game here in New York and see him do his thing. Hope he tears it up, but ultimately falls short so his only ring comes with the Pack. Yes, I can be grateful while also being selfish. Oh and please play 65% of the snaps!

 Thank you 12.
