Gimme A Big Hell Yeah: The Cavinder Twins Went On The Today Show And Teased The Idea Of Becoming WWE Wrestlers

What a move! The Cavinder Twins announced a couple days ago that they were leaving Miami after helping them get to the Elite Eight:

Now there is some clearing up needed here, because they teased the idea of it while people are unsure if they are going to be wrestlers or just brand people:

[Source] - Moreover, one of those post-basketball opportunities that the Cavinder Twins are looking forward towards is a venture into the world of professional wrestling with the WWE. Perhaps we could see them challenging for the Women’s Tag Team titles in the future, as they elaborated on their love for the company they’ve partnered with in the past on The Today Show.

“We love the WWE. Their fanbase, their sport, the fitness side of it. That fits Hanna and I’s brain, and aligns great with us,” added Haley Cavinder. “So yeah, we’re very excited about the future with them.”

They could have taken a fifth year either at Miami or somewhere else. Let's be real - it would have been at Miami. You don't leave Miami when you're TikTok'ing all over the goddamn place. Except when this happens. When you go on the Today Show and make this announcement:

It's not exactly shocking they are joining WWE, they made a bunch of NIL deals and always are scouting college athletes talent. Remember some of these guys were college basketball players too - Kane, Undertaker, Omos. Shit, it makes sense especially when you read this about why they are signed to the NIL:

[Source] - Many college athletes WWE signs to NIL deals come in with substantial social followings. In that space, the Cavinders are unmatched.

"We always like to say the important ability is marketability, and they have clearly demonstrated they are absolute pros," said James Kimball, WWE's senior vice president and head of talent operations and strategy, who oversees the NIL program. "They've dominated the TikTok space, they've dominated the NIL space. So when we're talking about launching our program and trying to create awareness, what better pairing? It's a perfect marriage."

The Cavinders' two-year NIL deal includes making appearances at WWE events and creating social content. Hanna said she and her sister take "a business mindset" into settings like the prematch reception, recognizing who is around them and the different audiences they can reach by capitalizing on key moments.

Yep, they know how to bring people in. But now I need to know more about the wrestling aspect. Everyone immediately comparing them to the Bellas. Sure, it makes sense. I mean, they are twin girls. You twin girls in wrestling, you're the Bellas.

But think about it. They'd be GREAT heels in the WWE. Hell Trish Stratus just a had a heel turn. Yes, that Trish Stratus. This same Trish Stratus that we all, ahem, loved when we were growing up. She was very influential:

I can fully admit I'm way more of an AEW fan than WWE. I can also fully admit that I love wrestling. Oh well. It's basically a never-ending soap opera show for guys. I enjoy it, okay. There are plenty of us that are normal. Plus, there ain't shit on to watch during the day as someone who works from home and needs background noise. But think about all the WWE Divas throughout the years. They fit the mold. Get the Cavinder twins some training, they know how to work a mic. Just get them flying around the ring now.
