1. Inside Man - 96/100
When an armed, masked gang enter a Manhattan bank, lock the doors and take hostages, the detective assigned to effect their release enters negotiations preoccupied with corruption charges he is facing.
This is not only one of Spike Lee's best movies, but also some of the casts top performances as well. Beyond all that, it is also one of my all time favorite heist movies and features a perfect ending sequence.
2. The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die
Following the death of King Edward, invaders and rival heirs do battle for the crown. Uthred and his comrades strive to form a united England.
'The Last Kingdom' is one of my favorite series Netflix has ever done. A great viking series that knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to do anything more. The action is as good as anything in 'Vikings' but it has more levity and much better drama in my opinion.
3. Born on the Fourth of July - 85/100
The biography of Ron Kovic. Paralyzed in the Vietnam war, he becomes an anti-war and pro-human rights political activist after feeling betrayed by the country he fought for.
Vietnam vet Oliver Stone directing Tom Cruise in one of the greatest movies about the effects of war ever made. What more do you need?

1. The Host - 89/100
Following the dumping of gallons of toxic waste in the river, a giant mutated squid-like appears and begins attacking the populace. Gang-du's daughter Hyun-seo is snatched up by the creature; with his family to assist him, he sets off to find her.
You can see a lot of Bong Joon-ho's future techniques taking shape in this movie, which is an awesome blend of sci-fi thrills and family drama.
2. Valkyrie - 70/100
Wounded in Africa during World War II, Nazi Col. Claus von Stauffenberg returns to his native Germany and joins the Resistance in a daring plan to create a shadow government and assassinate Adolf Hitler. When events unfold so that he becomes a central player, he finds himself tasked with both leading the coup and personally killing the Führer.
It's not a perfect movie, but there are worse historical dramas to spend your time on. It's crazy how close this dude was to blowing up hitler.
3. Tangerine - 91/100
It's Christmas Eve in Tinseltown and Sin-Dee is back on the block. Upon hearing that her pimp boyfriend hasn't been faithful during the 28 days she was locked up, the working girl and her best friend, Alexandra, embark on a mission to get to the bottom of the scandalous rumor. Their rip-roaring odyssey leads them through various subcultures of Los Angeles, including an Armenian family dealing with their own repercussions of infidelity.
This is a really interesting movie from Sean Baker who followed this up with 2 incredible projects in 'The Florida Project' and 'Red Rocket'. This one, though, is shot entirely on iPhone 5s and has a really cool feel to it.

In the future, America is a dystopian wasteland. The latest scourge is Ma-Ma, a prostitute-turned-drug pusher with a dangerous new drug and aims to take over the city. The only possibility of stopping her is an elite group of urban police called Judges, who combine the duties of judge, jury and executioner to deliver a brutal brand of swift justice. But even the top-ranking Judge, Dredd, discovers that taking down Ma-Ma isn’t as easy as it seems in this explosive adaptation of the hugely popular comic series.
Dredd is not only significantly better than Judge Dredd, but it is one of the better scifi movies of the 2010s. Great action, really cool shots and just a fun ass time in general.
2. Dave S3
Dave has been one of the better and more consistent series running over the last few years. Crazy to think about considering I remember sharing his Ex-Boyfriend video with my buddies in college.
3. Big Daddy - 84/100
A lazy law school grad adopts a kid to impress his girlfriend, but everything doesn't go as planned and he becomes the unlikely foster father.
This movie was the subject of a lot of debate on the last ep of dogwalk. I think it is easily one of Sandlers best. A lot of laughs that hold up well and a lot of heart. I could rewatch it any day of the week.

AMAZON PRIME
1. Ong Bak - 90/100
When the head of a statue sacred to a village is stolen, a young martial artist goes to the big city and finds himself taking on the underworld to retrieve it.
I go to war for this movie all the time because it deserves it. One of the cooler martial arts movies to come out in the last few decades and a really great fix for those of you looking for more after John Wick 4. Tony Jaa, if you're reading this, I love you.
2. Liar Liar - 83/100
Fletcher Reede is a fast-talking attorney and habitual liar. When his son Max blows out the candles on his fifth birthday he has just one wish - that his dad will stop lying for 24 hours. When Max's wish comes true, Fletcher discovers that his mouth has suddenly become his biggest liability.
Jim Carrey is in so many iconic comedies in this era and i feel like this one doesn't get the shine it deserves. Super funny with a nice little heart to it. Also some big ole honkers.
3. Face/off - 84/100
In order to foil a terrorist plot, an FBI agent undergoes facial transplant surgery and assumes the identity of a criminal mastermind, who murdered his only son. The plan turns sour when the criminal wakes up prematurely and seeks revenge.
To me, this movie perfectly encapsulates late-90s bangers. I can rewatch this and con air a million times in a row.
