An Afternoon At Louisiana Fairgrounds With Devin Snow

After having a good time at the Tampa Bay Derby a couple of weeks ago, I caught the horse racing bug. And who better to spend a Wednesday afternoon in NOLA at the track with than Devin Snow?

As to be expected, we started off cold in the first couple races and did not know what the hell we were doing. We both bet on a horse that finished dead last in our 2nd race.

Then Louisiana trainer Ron Faucheux showed up to save the day. Ron is the top horse trainer in the state.

Ron had been talking up his horse Kyle Beauty all week too. She is the daughter of the legendary California Chrome. Of course, I had to bet on here even as a massive 3/5 favorite.

Kyle Beauty easily won and we ended up in the official winning picture with the horse and trainer! This was definitely a first for me and was incredible! The morale of the story is listen to people who know what they are doing.

I ended up a slight winner and we had a blast at Louisiana Fairgrounds hanging out with the track creatures. The season ends with the prestigious Louisiana Derby on Saturday and I definitely will be returning more often. Maybe we can form a NOLA Syndicate one day?
