Chris Distefano Tells Joe Rogan His Mother's Friend Went On A Date With Ted Bundy
Absolutely insane story from Chrissy Podcasts / Chrissy Chaos. Stopped me dead in my tracks. Haven't made Rogan appointment listening, but am a huge fan of Distefano so was tuning into this on the commute in. He's always good for a bunch of laughs, but is also pretty deep , very smart, and speaks on a variety of topics from history to life advice etc. It's a fascinating listen on anything he's on , especially KFC radio because he's super loose.
I've seen him do stand up live, the first time I watched his 9/11 story I was floored. He's super talented, very funny, and puts on a terrific show. He's right now one of the best out there in my book.
Anyway, listening today was insane. Through the conversation he mentions that his mother's friend was out in Utah on a date with a guy who creeped him out, called her brother to pick her up immediately. The next day, her brother saw the same guy in the bushes the next day and chased him away. Time passed, she didn't think too much of it, until Ted Bundy shows up on the news.
Can you imagine ? On one hand, you have major props for sniffing out that this guy was a psychopath killer and got out of the date alive, knowing something was off. On the other hand, how do you ever get over the fact that you agreed to a date with him in the first place ? When people ask if you think you have a good dating track record, how can you answer honestly ? "Yeah I think I have a good track record, except the one time I went to a Chili's with a serial killer." Good luck explaining that. Which brings me to my take on this whole thing … how can this woman let the story get out …EVER ? Her brother knew, and likely her parents knew etc, but in no world would I ever be telling my friends that story. Take that shit to the grave. Do you want the entire neighborhood knowing you broke bread with a young Teddy B ? Are you nuts ? What would your future husband think of that ? What will your kids think of ? Imagine the family at a Little League game … "Hey Dad … Who's Mom talking to ? … "Oh just a friend from high school." … "Um Dad no offense but you sure you ok with her talking to him alone … you know given her past?" …. (Dad quickly sprints over)
Again, absolutely insane story . And then he tells a story about TiTi Jerry sharing prison walls with David Berkowitz aka Son of Sam , and Ronald Defeo Jr of the Amityville Horror murders. Distefano is a terrific storyteller, and has some wild curveballs you never expected. Really, really interesting interview. Distefano always seems to teach you something in his appearances.
My favorite piece of the interview was when Distefano says his father told him "You are going to love life when you learn life isn't fair." Deep …
