The Trailer For Bert Kreischer's Long-Awaited 'The Machine' Movie Costarring Mark Hamill Teases An Uproariously Good Time

In honor of the 48 hours KFC and Feits spent with Bert Kreischer in Amsterdam, it only felt right to post a trailer breakdown about the renowned comedian's upcoming movie The Machine roughly 48 hours after it dropped.

This looks like a violent cocktail of Tarantino-esque bloodshed mixed with pulse-pounding, spy thriller action. It's said in screenwriting that the best action sequences are when characters reveal behavior through their actions, to where it's not just some generic fight scene with quick cuts, impressive choreography and a diversion before the next plot point.

The moment in this trailer where Bert tries to shoot the guy in the leg, but then it actually hits him in the head to set off a chain reaction of head shots is priceless. Obviously stupid, ridiculous, could never happen, etc., yet it tells you what kind of flick we're in for. 

Looking at some of the social media comments around this trailer's debut, I was surprised to see how polarizing it was. Bert Kreischer legitimately strikes me as one of the funniest dudes alive. As someone who's not even the most massive standup fan, Bert gets me wheezing with laughter even when he's doing simple interviews. He has one of those laughs that only triggers you to laugh harder. I hope that doesn't get lost in translation amid this big-screen outing.

But my goodness, that whole Russian mafia story that Bert is famous for? Legitimately one of the wildest yarns ever spun. If you've somehow never heard it, do check it out. 

I've buried the lede somewhat: MARK HAMILL IS IN THIS MOVIE. He's playing Bert's father. The fact that he's on this insane journey with Bert makes me think we're going to get a side of the legendary Luke Skywalker actor we haven't quite seen to this extreme before. You can tell Hamill is having an absolute blast in this role.

Placing "long-awaited" in the blog title seemed appropriate since, well, this movie began shooting in April 2021. I kept wondering all that time — really since The Machine was announced back in 2019 — how they were going to spin this into a full-length feature. Then when this trailer started rolling, and I understood the main premise of a totally fictional revenge story for what Bert stole on his study abroad trip back in the day, it made total sense.
