I Love Michael B Jordan But I Have A Big Issue With His OBJ Catch Recreation

TMZ- Move over OBJ ... Eli Manning has a new favorite acronym -- MBJ, as in Michael B. Jordan!!!

The New York legend welcomed the movie star to MetLife Stadium in a new episode of "The Eli Manning Show" this week ... and Jordan -- a die hard Big Blue fan -- wanted to live out his childhood dream by becoming a Giant for a day.

The award-winning actor linked up with Manning and former center, Shaun O'Hara at the facility ... and Eli wanted to give Jordan the full NYG experience.

So, Manning had Jordan -- who was in full pads and helmet -- ran a couple of routes right on the field ... and then they took a shot at recreating Odell Beckham Jr's most iconic catch.

I love Michael B Jordan . He's been great in everything I've seen him in. The Wire ... great. Creed .. great. Friday Night Lights ... great. Hardball... great.

I think he's super likable, super charismatic, a great actor, and a star in every sense of the word. He's terrific. I can't wait for Creed III. He's really really enjoyable. He's been around sports in a few of his movies too which makes him even more likable. So there is no surprise he was around Eli Manning to recreate the famous OBJ catch.

It's also even better that he grew up a Giants fan , and had memories of players growing up. Good to see of all the moments in the NFL to recreate, this one is one he has an actual connection with. The G-MEN are rolling and the more we have on the hype train the better.

The only issue here is this. If you are going to "recreate" a catch you have to do it right. The OBJ catch is famous and iconic because he did it with one hand. "MBJ" took the easy way out here grabbing the ball with two hands. Come on. Either do it right or don't do it all. And I know there's possibility of him getting hurt, but he's used to long shoots, and hours of takes trying to get things right. He should have tried with 1 hand until he got it, or recreated another moment, and that breaks my heart because again, I love Michael B Jordan, and this moment would have been so much cooler if he actually nailed the catch the right way. It's still cool to learn he loves the Giants but he should have done it the right way. Half assed is no way to go about things.
