LSU Is The Most Hyped College Baseball Team Of My Lifetime

I have never seen hype quite like what is surrounding the 2023 LSU Tigers.

After falling to Southern Miss in the Regional Final in Hattiesburg, head coach Jay Johnson crushed the transfer portal by utilizing LSU's NIL money and hungry fan base.

This lineup is the best in the country on paper. Outfielder Dylan Crews will be a top 5 pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. Tre Morgan is a stud 1B. Gavin Dugas hit 26 bombs two years ago and could hit 7th or 8th. Tommy Tanks transferred from NC State after setting the NCAA Freshman Home Run Record with 28 last year.

If there is a question about this team, it is the starting pitching rotation but it is not because of a lack of talent. LSU has a whole bunch of power arms who can throw in the mid 90s headlined by All American Air Force transfer Paul Skenes.

Their pitching staff was dealt a big blow when projected top 15 pick Grant Taylor was ruled out for the season this week with a UCL injury.

There is no denying the Tigers will be good…. but can anyone live up to these expectations?

There's no chance in hell I would take them +450 to win the title in college baseball.  No one should be that big of a favorite. And if they do not make it to the CWS in Omaha, what will the fan reaction be like? I have a pretty good idea…..

How on earth can they live up to these expectations? Only time will tell…..
