Shocker! The First Trailer For 'Fast X' Dropped And It Is Dom Toretto Trying To Protect His Family

Following the events of F9 (2021), Cipher and Dante unite in their fight against Dominic Toretto and his crew, who are assisted by Brian.[2]

I truly cannot tell you the last time i saw a FOUR MINUTE LONG TRAILER but it almost feels perfect for the absurd franchise that the fast and the furious has become. In the lead up to this trailer, a lot of people in the movie world were a little confused why there weren't any plot details for the movie. No synopsis other than "The next installment in the fast franchise". Well, I guess the reason why is because they wanted to basically show us the entire movie in the first trailer.

Giphy Images.

After seeing this trailer, I have 4 big questions:

#1. I'm just not sure I buy Jason Momoa as a villain. The dude is just way too likable and doesn't seem like he has a bad bone in his body. Even when he delivers the classically schlocky bad guy lines in this trailer, I have trouble believing it.

#2. Does this feel very similar to Fast 8? Bad guys threatening Dom Torrettos son and the whole family having to help save them.

#3. Have we officially reached the terriroty of "too much". It's honestly hard to even consider it because this is a franchise that started with small time criminals stealing Panasonic DVD/TV combos but in the last movie they sent a Pontiac to space. But seeing this cast adding even more names into fray just has me tired.

#4. Brie Larson, what are you doing dude. This is an actress that made her bones in incredible, Oscar-winning roles in movies like 'Room' and 'Short Term 12'. Now she's let Hollywood turn her into their go-to option for hollow, poorly written girlboss characters for big franchise movies. Time to break free! She doesn't even need to do more small-scale dramas or anything. She had some great comedic bones in '21 Jump Street' and 'Scott Pilgrim vs. The World', go do comedies! Have fun and get away from these shitty, big-budget movies.

This movie hits theaters May 19th.

P.S. It may sound like I am not in to these movies but I will be there opening night with Feits who will probably bring a bottle of Jurgens.
