AHL Suspends Player For Fingering

The American Hockey League slapped Dominik Shine with a 2-game suspension this week for his "actions". They didn't go on to explain what these actions were that resulted in the Grand Rapids forward having to watch the next 2 games from the press box.

I'm looking at the game report from that night right now and it looks like he didn't even take a penalty. So what could he have possibly done to earn himself a 2-game suspension after the game, while during the game wasn't even called for a 2-minute penalty?

As it would turn out, he gave somebody the finger.

Or I guess he gave the entire crowd the finger from the reaction there.

But there you have it. Not just any finger. But the MIDDLE finger. The bad one. The one that insinuates mean things and bad words. I mean how do you expect any of the parents who brought their children to the Chicago Wolves game that night to be able to explain that one? In fact, my cousin's next door neighbor's tax accountant brought his 20-year-old son to the game that night and now he's addicted to pot. All because Dominik Shine put up the middle finger for all to see.

I'm just glad the AHL is out here protecting the world from heathens like this. There's no room for that in hockey. This is a gentleman's game. You can bash your fist through an opponent's skull and sit in the penalty box for 5 minutes. But don't you dare flip that middle finger up from your fist or else the AHL is going to come cracking down on you to the fullest extent of the law.
