LeBron James Threw A Temper Tantrum For The Ages After Some Late Game Drama Didn't Go His Way

I'm going to need to ask for a minute as I blog this in real time after the Celts held on to sweep those bum ass Lakers in OT for the second time this season. I don't care when they play, or who is on that team, it's always fuck the Lakers as far as I'm concerned.

…….

…………

OK, I took some deep breaths and am ready to proceed. You see the thing about this thrilling Celtics win was the fact that it was made possible due to a very poor missed call. Credit to me for being able to admit that LeBron James was maybe/probably/kind of fouled on the final possession of regulation

Some people say the hand is part of the ball, some people say it's actually your whole arm, it's complicated. Very hard in today's game to get a clear ruling on that. For nearly 2 decades LeBron has been not only getting a call like that, but a whole bunch of whistles that weren't actually fouls. It's basically how he became able to pass Kareem if we're being honest. I think most will agree that LeBron is a guy that's maybe gotten a call or two in his day. You don't see him crying about it when it went his way do you? Of course you don't.

The thing is, this is not the first time this exact fuck up has happened to LeBron just this season. Remember this?

As you probably expect, LeBron lost his shit. How he didn't get a tech for his temper tantrum is beyond me. Dennis Schroder did way less for his tech earlier in the game and yet after crying and stomping and literally falling to the ground, LeBron got nothing.

My gut says this was most likely because the ref knew he blew it, but listen that's not my problem. What about all those Respect The Game rules that the league is forcing down my throat? I've seen players get techs for legitimately doing a single clap because it violated whatever that bullshit is.

There's just something about LeBron that's annoying, even in a situation like this. Maybe he's right, maybe he's not. The Lakers still had a chance to win in OT and they couldn't get it done. Go cry about that instead maybe.

While this was all going on, things were a bit chaotic. The game ended and went to commercial, but then returned with Tatum going to the line for a tech. Did they actually give one to LeBron? Hell no. They gave it to Pat Bev for this

See this is how you do it LeBron. This is funny. Anyone can cry and scream like a baby, but who else is grabbing a camera and walking onto the court with it to try and show the ref how bad their call was. That's an A+ move and I feel confident in saying that only Pat Bev does something like this. I'm sure he'll be fined for it but whatever, it's worth that moment in my opinion. That's a ride or die teammate if I've ever seen one, not to mention what Pat Bev did in the final minutes of this game

I know some people might be tired of Pat Bev. They may not love his trash talk or his antics

but I can't see why not. He's hilarious and I'm not just saying that because he's my coworker. I'll take a guy like that on my team any day of the week. Whether it's pushing Deandre Ayton to stick up for a teammate or write a check to the league to get LeBron's back, Pat Bev is down for whatever.

But in the end, it was simply too much Jaylen Brown down the stretch who had a massive second half and OT while also needing to step to the line down 1 with 4 seconds left and make his FT with the game on the line. You'll remember it was that exact moment that he choked away in the previous game against the Knicks, so to see him get some immediate redemption was awesome. Very happy for Jaylen and very happy the refs were blind and fucked up to help the Celts not lose their 5th straight.

All in all, I think we can all agree that it was a bad call, an awesome moment, and an even better end result. OK maybe I'm the only one who cares about that last part but whatever. Screw the Lakers.
