I Have NEVER Seen Volatile Line Movement Like This AFC Championship

The Cincinnati Bengals and the Kansas City Chiefs are set to square off in Kansas City on Sunday for the 2nd straight year in the AFC Championship at 5:30 EST and all week long, the line on the Barstool Sportsbook has been all over the map. This is extremely rare for a game of this magnitude. Let's break it down.

The line opened last Sunday with the Chiefs as a 1 point favorite at home. I thought the Chiefs would be a 3 point home favorite but the combination of Patrick Mahomes high ankle sprain and the Bengals 27-10 domination in Buffalo brought it down to one. Joe Burrow's 3-0 record against KC also played a big role.

Then heavy money came on the Bengals making them a 1.5 point road favorite early in the week. In some places the line even went all the way to -2.5. I honestly could not believe my eyes that Patrick Mahomes & KC could be a home underdog when hosting their 5th straight AFC Championship! KC has been favored in 14 straight playoff games too.

Then word broke on Wednesday that Patrick Mahomes looked good on his ankle in practice and yet again the line shifted! Now, KC is a 1 point home favorite. And it is back to square one where the line opened on Sunday.

Editor's Note: That line is for the wrong game but it's Mintzy's world and we are all just living in it. The Bengals are actually playing the Chiefs on Sunday, with Kansas City currently favored 1.5 points at home on the Barstool Sportsbook.

Bottom line is that no one seems to know what the heck is going to happen in this game on Sunday afternoon. And that is a great thing for football fans!

I will be back with AFC & NFC Championship gambling previews next on here including a deep dive on prop bets.
