College Parts Ways With Its Women's Basketball Coach After Clip Of His Tirade Shows Him Going Bizzerk

KXXV- BELTON, Texas- The University of Mary-Hardin Baylor has parted ways with women's head basketball coach Mark Morefield after video shows him launching an expletive-filled tirade toward Cru players on the court.

UMHB officials confirmed to 25 News that Morefield was "no longer employed" with the university but failed to disclose if he resigned or officials terminated his employment.

Mark Morefield is seen in this video berating his Mary Hardin Baylor (UMHB) team. Morefield has been removed as coach. One outlet is describing that the incident in the video was from a November practice when one of the team's better players was rolled up under and sustained an injury.

TexasBasketball - According to sources, the removal could be the result of an incident that occurred during a team practice in November. Sources indicate a player suffered a season-ending injury when rolled upon by another player. Following the incident, a frustrated Morefield allegedly used an expletive when explaining to the team why the injury should not have occurred.

Sports can get emotional, and everyone can lose their temper or raise their voice to inspire their team, that comes with coaching. The problem here as one of his former players describes was Morefield was like this every day and every game with the girls that played for him and went out of his way to delete clips like this from seeing the light of day.

Bad, bad stuff here from Morefield. If this one video shows any kind of light as to what kind of coach Morefield was this doesn't look like an isolated incident and more of the norm as his player described. It seems like Morefield lost it more than he contained it, and to make matter worse it was while coaching a Women's team.

I'm sure there are people saying this is part of sports and that they had coaches push them with yelling etc. But I think even for sports diehards, they would agree this seems like a little much. Really tough to get behind a guy who used that kind of language to his team and his player coming out immediately to say this is just the tip of the iceberg.

Morefield released a statement:

It's in times like this, I am reminded of the great Bob Diaco's quote about his coach Hayden Fry and how important it was as a player to feel loved by their coach.
