All Of The Hot Tiktok Beauty Influencers Are On A Bajillion Dollar Press Trip To Dubai And People Can't Handle It
A little background here for those who aren't living on Tiktok:
Tarte Cosmetics is an OG makeup brand that seems to have thrown the entire yearly budget at their social media marketing this quarter with a massive, highly publicized press trip to Dubai. More specifically, the hot cool girl beauty influencers of Tiktok. We're talkin' Alix Earle. Monet Mcmichael. Meredith Duxbury. THE BIG THREE. The reason everyone is freaking the fuck out; this trip must've cost Tarte their souls and some of their blood, because the perks are out of control.
Each girl so far has posted a video:
1. Packing for Dubai, saying how excited they are to get there
2. A video from their Business class seats on Emirates or Qatar airlines. Each girl has a plus one (a lot of them brought their moms, which is adorable.)
3. A room tour. Yet it's not a room, its an enormous villa at the Ritz Carlton, complete with private pools. The rooms are also stocked to the ceiling with Tarte cosmetics, and a ton of other brand collaborations (so far I've seen Juicy Couture and SKIMS, of course Kimmy K gets her hands on this somehow)
4. They all took the girls on a dune buggy ride through the desert today, complete with photoshoots and camel sightings.
5. They're being treated to a full glam session and then all going out to some big fancy dinner. This dinner is probably happening as I type this (1130pm on January 19th) because there hasn't been any content posted about it yet but I'm DYING TO SEE IT.
In all of their videos, they're using Tarte cosmetics. They look hot, they're doing rich people things, and they're having adventures in the desert with their moms. Cute! Wholesome! Extremely intelligent marketing! From where I stand, Tarte Makeup is for hot, rich girls who travel the world. And we still have two more days!!
So then why are people freaking the fuck out? They can't understand how Tarte can afford all of this.
Do I agree with a lot of the points Jack Mac has made here? Absolutely. If i were to buy this trip for myself, it would cost a FORTUNE. Probably 100 grand, easily. What we're forgetting here, is the fact that a trip like this has probably been in the works for 6 months. Maybe the influencers were decided last minute, but the activity planning of the trip HAS to have taken weeks in planning alone. The essential piece here, is that I'm willing to bet Emirates, Qatar Airlines, the Ritz and any restaurants/food they eat while they are there, have come to some kind of agreement. Each of these videos will get over a million views because of the absurdity alone, and even though every girl is posting basically the same content, everyone wants to see all of it. Each perspective, each girl's reaction to all of this luxury - they're eating it up. We can't believe these normal, hot rich girls are all hanging out at the same time, doing some crazy hot rich girl shit.
As for whether or not the UAE is funding this whole trip? That could be totally possible. They could be a silent partner with Tarte. What's great about this, is that all of these influencers are super transparent about their work stuff. I'm almost positive Alix Earle will tell us every single detail about this trip, everything she got paid to do, and how it came about. She's real as fuck and that's why I'm heading out to buy an entirely new set of makeup from Tarte Cosmetics. So I, too, can cosplay in the desert someday.
