A Marvel Producer Said Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania Is An "Epic Sci-Fi War Movie" That Will Be As Important And Integral To The MCU As Captain America: Civil War
I don't know who Stephen Broussard is or what exactly he, or to be honest any VP does. But someone needs to add Hype Man to his official title at Marvel because these two quotes caused this to happen in my nerdy nether regions.
Yeah, we're talking nerd boners
I was already excited about finally getting Big Daddy Kang into our lives as Phase 5's Final Boss based on Jonathan Majors' incredible appearance in Loki along with the two Quantumania trailers that gave us a glimpse into what looked like a pretty fun and cool looking movie.
Not to mention a sick remake of Yellow Brick Road.
But those comments took me from stoked to hyped as fuck considering Civil War was the movie where we were introduced to Black Panther, Spider-Man made his first appearance in the MCU, and oh yeah THE MOTHERFUCKING AVENGERS BROKE UP AFTER FIGHTING EACH OTHER AT AN AIRPORT which was kiiiiiinda of a big deal if memory serves right. And yes, I am going to put here since we could all use a Thursday afternoon pick-me-up.
I also had no clue what type of Quantumania would be outside of a cool looking sci-fi movie. But turning that "sci-fi movie" into an "epic sci-fi war movie" tells me that Kang isn't going to be pussyfooting around in the MCU but instead be in Battle Mode from Day 1, maybe even Minute 1.
There is also a chance that Broussard got ahead of himself and these comments fall flat like that son of a bitch Paul Bettany dropping clues about working with an actor he always wanted to work with in Wandavision, which had the entire world getting excited about a Magneto or Professor X appearance, even though it ended up being Bettany acting with himself.
But I am personally choosing to believe that Kevin Feige learned from all that and politely told everyone associated with Marvel that they will be killed in their sleep by Disney Special Forces if they pull any sort of nonsense Bettany did.
Like I said, I was already excited about Quantumania and thought it would be the second best MCU project this year behind Guardians 3. But after all these, I think there's actually a chance it could be the biggest and best. Robbie and I broke down our thoughts about all things Ant-Man 3 as well as everything else scheduled to come out in 2023 on the latest My Mom's Basement.
