A List Of Obscure And Ridiculous TV Shows Ahead Of That Giant Bag Of Douche Skip Bayless In The Ratings
I am so fucking sick of hearing about Skip Bayless. I have had him muted on Twitter for a few years now but every once in a while the human herpes that is Skip creates a nasty, bumpy flare up on my timeline that not even Valtrex could cure. Today is one of those days.
Once again Skip Bayless said something stupid for attention and once again we all gave it to him. We can argue about how stupid it actually was but there is no question as to why he tweeted what he tweeted. Rinse and repeat, this is how that Jerry Jones left in the dryer too long looking mother fucker has hung around for so many years in the media. Nate did a great job blogging about this earlier today.
But how effective are these tactics from a bottom line standpoint? He is almost half way through a four year contract with FOX Sports worth $32 Million. Since signing that deal, FOX Corp stock is down 29%.
Fox Corp. flipped into the red in the second quarter of its 2022 fiscal year, losing $73 million compared to the $230 million profit it reported in the year-ago quarter. That yielded a net loss per share attributable to Fox shareholders of $.15, versus a per-share profit of $.37 a year earlier.
Since that article was published in March of last year, FOX Corp stock is down another 25%. Obviously, not all of this has to do with Fox Sports programming let alone Skip Bayless. But it does make you wonder how many more mega-contracts are going to be handed out for hot take artists on traditional TV regardless of consistently viral their stupidity is.
If Fox chooses not to renew him, will there be an online media company or gambling platform waiting to catch his disgusting orange face in a giant bag of money? You bet your ass. But Fox, at least for now, still needs to worry about traditional ratings and Skip has never delivered those since leaving ESPN.
Undisputed is ranked 397th on TV and is currently the fourth most popular show on a network that doesn't even register in the top 50 according to USTVDB.com.
