A Philly Mummer With A Rainbow-Shebert Face Saved A Man's Life During The Eagles Game On Sunday

As someone who's attended the Philly Mummers Parade throughout my entire life, I can say with all certainty that Mummers are up to all sorts of hijinx on New Years Day. But life-saving heroics? No... Normally not among the activities. Incredibly bedazzled string bands, endless strutting in sneakers spray-painted gold, & waves of drunk dudes dressed as wenches peeing on buildings is more along the vibe.

So there's a pretty amazing story that's emerging from New Years Day where a Mummer strutted on down to the Eagles game after the parade & saved a man's life in full wench regalia. Via Eagles Nation...

Huge shoutout to ER Dr. Vincent Louis for stepping up.

According to a witness at the game:

This Mummer, sitting 2 seats to the right of me at the Eagles game, is an ER doc at Einstein. 10 rows behind us, something happened where a dude ended up being upside down, with the top of his head on the step in the aisle. He was pulseless and literally blue. The ER doc who came from the Mummers Parade literally saved his life. Dude was so lucky this guy was so close because it took medical staff a long time to get to him. That was a more exciting 2nd quarter than I expected.

Though not dressed as fancily, a nurse in that section named Natalie Nichole also jumped in to action right away:

According to some Facebook scrolling, the family of the man who was saved has reached out to the Dr. to show gratitude. Apparently the man is still in the hospital, but is out of the ICU. I hope he has a quick recovery & makes a comeback in time for some Eagles playoff wins.

Anyone stepping in to assist someone in medical distress is a hero - but a Mummer in Pit Vipers with a rainbow-sherbet face & leopard trimmed mini-umbrella is simply the GOAT.

Behold, the face of a hero:
