Netflix Series Alleges That Bernie Madoff Took A 150 Year Sentence To Avoid A Mob Hit Coming His Way As He Took And Lost Millions From Them

(NY Post)--Now, a new Netflix docuseries tells the rest of the story. According to Joe Berlinger, director of the four-part “Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street,” out Wednesday, Madoff had also been managing “a significant chunk” of money for international organized crime,

That’s why the New York native, who died in jail in 2021 at the age of 82, was so willing to take the rap, as well as the 150-year prison sentence that followed, Berlinger said. Madoff felt no remorse — his guilty plea was just one last selfish act. He was trying to stay alive.

Fucking Madoff, man. Always scheming. Always trying to get off easy. Even when he agreed to 150 years and dying in jail he only did it to avoid the death penalty on the streets. Madoff, died of supposedly natural causes in jail last year. He ended up serving 12 years of that 150 year sentence in a medium security prison in North Carolina.

Now, I don't know what a medium security prison experience is like exactly, but my guess is that at best it's fucking awful. Madoff had to go to the hospital in 2009 after breaking out in hives and there were reports from inmates that Madoff got the shit kicked out of him by another prisoner which caused facial damage and broken ribs...allegedly. Not great.

So, I guess, I am wondering...is it better to die of natural causes in prison after 12 years of a living hell OR...would you rather just get popped on the street by the mob and be done with it. If you're in prison with a 150 year sentence and you're already 70 years old what is the point of living? Get busy living, or get busy dying. I think I'd rather be dead in an instant. Car explosion or any mob death I've seen in the movies other than what happened to Billy Bats or Nicky Santoro seems better to me than dying a slow, anxiety ridden, physically threatening death of natural causes in jail.
