Dana White Got Into An Altercation With His Wife On New Year's Eve, Says He Is "Embarrassed" By His Actions

Well - this is horrible. No two ways about it. Horrendous.

TMZ just released a shocking video of Dana White smacking his wife multiple times in a club on New Year's Eve after she smacked him during an argument. Dana already did an interview with TMZ in response to this video, and said the following....

“My wife and I were out on Saturday night on New Year’s Eve, and unfortunately that’s what happened,” White said. “I’m one of the guys, you’ve heard me say for years, there’s never, ever an excuse for guy to put his hands on a woman, and now here I am on TMZ talking about it. My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years, we’ve known each other since we were 12 years old. We’ve obviously been through some shit together, we’ve got three kids and this is one of those situations that’s horrible, I’m embarrassed, but it’s also one of those situations that right now, we’re more concerned about our kids.

“We have three kids and obviously since the video popped up, we’ve shown the kids the video. We’re more focused on our family right now. People are going to have opinions on this, and most of the people’s opinions would be right, especially in my case. You don’t put your hands on a woman ever. My wife and I love each other, we’ve been together for a very long time. We’ve known each other since we were very little, and this is just one of those unfortunate situations.”

You can watch the actual video of his interview at the top of this blog.

Obviously I've grown fairly close with the UFC President over the years (closer than most media members, at least) and it sucks to have to blog this, but news is news, and this is BIG news - so here we are.

From his TMZ interview, I think Dana knows he fucked up. I'd hope so, at least. Like he says - you don't put your hands on a woman...ever. I don't care if she hits you first, fucks your best friend, kicks you in the balls, or tells everyone you have a tiny little baby dick. I don't care if she winds up and hits you with a falcon punch that puts Francis Ngannou's KO of Alistair Overeem to shame. I don't care if she Jorge Masvidal's your ass to the shadow realm with a flying knee. You just don't hit back. Ever. There's no excuse - I don't care how much alcohol is involved. Again, tho - Dana has already said all of this to TMZ. He knows it.

Unfortunately for Dana, he will never live this down - but I think he knows that too. Jokes and memes about his new Power Slap League are pouring in by the hundreds on Twitter and Instagram, and news sites are picking this up one by one. It's going to be a huge story in the morning.

Right now, on a personal level, I'm just hoping the best for his kids and family. This isn't a situation you'd want to watch your parents go through and I feel for them big time. I'll never understand Dana's haters taking a victory lap as if this isn't horrible for everyone involved. Best wishes to his family in cutting through the noise and working this out.
