Bad News For The Steelers: Myles Garrett Woke Up And Decided The Browns Need To Eliminate Them From The Playoffs Again

OK so it's not the craziest shit talking ahead of a rivalry game but we'll take what we can get.

Myles Garrett is bricked the fuck up (my words not his) at the chance to eliminate the Steelers from the playoffs for the second time in three years AND hand Mike Tomlin his first losing season in Pittsburgh. And I'm bricked the fuck up (my words again, not his) that for once the players are looking at this matchup the same way the fans do.

I love that this rivalry has been rekindled so much that the Browns are taking pride in making sure those piss colored jerseys won't be seen during the postseason. That's the way it should be. Football is better when this rivalry actually matters.

It hasn't always been pretty, but Myles has single handedly brought this feud back from the dead. From trying to give back Mason Rudolph his helmet and everyone taking it the wrong way to him having the Steelers offensive line so shook they snapped the ball over Big Ben's head and into the end zone on the first play of the playoff game. He has left his mark on this AFC North quarrel.

I've been through plenty of seasons where the Browns are eliminated from playoff contention and just playing out the string. For one half on Sunday it seemed like that was going to happen again despite there being a ton for this team to accomplish in the final two weeks.

Nick Chubb and Myles Garrett entered the game with outside shots at the rushing and sack titles and everyone is still waiting for Deshaun Watson to return to anything near the QB he once was. Add in the fact that the Browns do not own their 1st round pick and anything short of a momentum building win was going to piss a lot of people off.

And up until halftime, they only only part they were accomplishing was pissing everyone off. Chubb had just 34 yards, Garrett had not recorded a sack, Watson looked like he had never played football before, and the Browns trailed 7-3.

And then it all changed.

Now, I'm not stupid and I realize that Ron Rivera committed coaching malpractice by starting Carson Wentz. But you can only play who they put on the field and the Browns dominated. Chubb finished with over 100 yards on the ground, Myles had 1.5 sacks, and Watson came to life with 178 total yards and 3 TDs. More importantly, they looked like a talented football team that wasn't tripping over thier own dick once they had the lead.

Now they can turn their focus towards the Steelers who are in the playoffs with a win against the Browns. And usually this would be the most predictable outcome imaginable. The Steelers steamroll a Browns team that already has their bags packed for vacation. But the Steelers know damn well that isn't the case with Nicholas Jamal Chubb coming to town.

While they underachieved more than me taking the SATs hungover, the Browns are still loaded with talent, have an elite level quarterback who has shown less rust and more flashes of brilliance each week, and know how much a win over their rivals would mean heading into the offseason. It would be huge for the team, the QB, the coach, and the fans.

Kenny Pickett has looked pretty damn good the last few weeks and you know the Browns defensive room wants to make a statement. And hopefully the statement is on the field and not just to the media. Because if the Browns are going to enter the 2023 season with high expectations, they might as well enter it as the new big brother in this rivalry too.
