Bold Move! Sam Raimi Has An Dinosaur Action Movie On The Horizon

"After a catastrophic crash on an unknown planet, pilot Mills quickly discovers he's stranded on Earth... 65 million years ago. Now, with only one chance at rescue, Mills and the only other survivor, Koa, must make their way across an unknown terrain riddled with dangerous prehistoric creatures in an epic fight to survive."

Why is this a bold move? Because this is a genre that is DOMINATED by a single franchise. The Jurassic franchise runs the dinosaur streets and there hasn't been room for anyone else over the last 30 years. But lets be honest with ourselves here. Does Jurassic deserve that monopoly?

Jurassic has 1 all-time blockbuster, one mediocre movie, and 4 entries of shit. There is more than enough room for someone else to come in and offer some competition.

If you ask me, this trailer was pretty damn cool. Simple premise, a fantastic lead-actor and some good looking scenery. What's not to like? Well, any time a kid actor plays a major role in a movie it is a huge risk. Any time a movie depends a lot on CGI it is also a big risk. But the dinos looked cool and Adam Driver's Halo-ass gun looked ever better. I'm in!

On the back end, this movie was written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods. Together they wrote and produced 'A Quiet Place' which was obviously a runaway hit. The legend himself Sam Raimi is producing, so you got 3 minds that are very well versed in horror. What were the best parts of the Jurassic movies? The horror. Being hunted is scary as hell, so if this is an action-horror with an emphasis on horror, this could be incredible.
