ANOTHER Spider-Man Movie?!

Yep - there's another 'Spider-Man' movie (or should I say another 'Spider-Verse' movie?) coming out next year and the teaser trailer released today has me pretty damn confident I'll be slinging webs all over the theater come June....

The original 'Into The Spider-Verse' has everything you could ever want in a superhero movie, and it'd be on the shortlist of movies I'd recommend to anyone looking to get into the genre. Not only is it a great superhero movie, or great animated movie, or great 'Spider-Man' movie - it's a GREAT MOVIE plain and simple. It looks gorgeous, the story is simple yet full-of-heart, the protagonists are all SO likable, the humor and dialogue holds up well even after tons of rewatches, the villains and their backstories are phenomenal, and the soundtrack is amazing!

If you haven't seen it, I'll be the first to admit: I went in as a skeptic, shocked that an animated 'Spider-Man' movie was getting a theatrical release….but once I actually saw the movie, I fell in love with Miles Morales and company instantly, and I think you will too.

The trailer for 'Across the Spider-Verse' opens with Miles' mother trying to comfort him on a rooftop while he looks on at the city, depressed; and then brilliantly throws to a whole bunch of clips from 'Into The Spider-Verse' (including the Stan Lee cameo that pulls on my heartstrings every time I see it), and then Gwen Stacy grabs Miles' hand and pulls him into a brand new multiversal adventure.

We see a whole lotta Spideys (both familiar and unfamiliar to us) hanging out around the multiverse towards the end, but the only ones who are a real focus are Oscar Isaac's 'Spider-Man 2099/Miguel O'Hara' and Issa Rae's (PREGNANT) 'Spider-Woman/Jessica Drew'.

(I'm sure the internet is reacting to the first black and pregnant Spider-Woman rationally)

Some other Spideys that were spotted in there….

The Spider-Man I'm looking forward to seeing the most in this movie was actually absent from the trailer, that being Daniel Kaluuya's 'Spider-Punk' - a British Spider-Man who plays guitar in a punk rock band….

….but when it comes to movies like this that I'm already sold on, I'd actually prefer to see as little of it as possible til release day - so maybe that's a blessing in disguise. Now Spider-Punk is a surprise, innit?

Now please excuse me while I go watch the "What's Up Danger" scene from 'Into The Spider-Verse'….
