If I Gave You 20 Chances, You Would Still Never Guess Which Band Nickelback Used To Stockpile Groupies On Their Tour Bus For

For those that still haven't listened to our awesome interview with Nickelback on Barstool Backstage, here's a nice little teaser.

During our discussion with the band and their retelling of how they came up, Chad Kroeger told us a story about how the band got in the good graces of the headlining band they were on tour opening for.

It went something like this:

Paraphrasing: "We (Nickelback) were on tour with this band in the States, opening for them, doing small to medium-sized club shows. They (the headlining band) had just dropped a single that had been doing pretty well, but really began to pick up steam, almost out of nowhere. Before we knew it, it was top of the charts, and we went from opening up at clubs and theatres to full-blown arena's for them. We never wanted to leave and thought they were our ticket to stardom so we came up with plan to make them want to keep us around. When we would get done our opening set, I'd tell the crowd to meet us over by our merch stand where we'd be signing autographs. We'd rush over to the merch stand and hang out just scoping out the hottest chicks. We'd ask them if they wanted to come check out our tour bus and hang out. So we'd have this entire bus full of hot chicks stockpiled on the bus during their (the band's) set. We'd station our manager at the side of the stage so that when they'd wrap their set, he'd tell them "hey, you gotta come back to the bus, we have a surprise for you." They'd walk onto the bus and we'd be there like, "hey guys, this is for you." Naturally they thought we were the coolest guys in the world and wanted us to stick around."

Chad Kroeger. Voice of an angel. Song bird of our generation. Babe magnet. Genius.

Again, I was SHOCKED to hear this story and connect it to the band they were talking about. It makes it ten times funnier.

But you'll have to listen to the episode to find out.
