It Sounds Like The Cowboys May Not Sign Odell Beckham Jr. Because His Injured Knee Hasn't Healed Enough And He May Not Be Ready To Play Until Mid-January

Big news coming out of Big D!

:apologies, I hear that in my head after years of Cowboys news big and small on SportsCenter:

Anyway, I'm gonna file this report very much under the Bad category for Odell's camp. Because if Jerry Jones can't find a way to make the knee of one of the NFL's biggest names look good enough for the Cowboys team doctor to clear, it probably isn't in great shape. I imagine Jerruh puts up the same fight to sign a player as popular as Odell Beckham as my kids do to order chicken tenders at every restaurant we go to. Politely asking at first, anger at the mere request to choose something else, followed by a full blown meltdown with kicking and screaming when they are told no.

That usually ends with people just giving in. But if mid-January is indeed the timeframe for when Odell will be able to move however a 30-year-old Odell with two ACL surgeries is supposed to move, it may not be worth it. Granted, the Super Bowl is in mid-February, which is something Jerry may not realize since it was in late January the last time the Cowboys made it there. However, even a month of Odell getting his feet under him while readjusting to NFL contact and speed on the fly in the middle of the playoffs.

So it's probably best for the Cowboys to roll with what they have in Zeke, Pollard, CeeDee, and Gallup while letting Odell go to a team that cares about him enough to at the very least not let something like this leak to a reporter that pretty much camps outside their headquarters. It would be a real shame if Odell holds that grudge and looks at every future Cowboys game as a revenge game.

Here's to Odell getting healthy and hopefully looking anywhere close to this guy again because he was ELECTRIC.
